High-level Delegations Arrive in Tripoli Ahead of CEN-SAD Youth Ministers’ Meeting
Senior officials from Somalia and Sierra Leone touched down in the Libyan capital on Saturday morning, ahead of the 4th Council of Youth and Sports Ministers of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) commencing tomorrow, April 21.
The delegations, representing the youth sectors of their respective nations, were welcomed at Mitiga International Airport by a representative from the Protocol Department of Libya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Their timely arrival sets the stage for the three-day ministerial gathering hosted by Libya’s Government of National Unity, which runs through April 23. The council meeting aims to enhance regional cooperation in youth empowerment and sports development across the Sahel and Saharan regions.
Key items on the agenda include joint training programs, youth cultural exchanges, improving sports infrastructure, bolstering youth participation in policymaking, and forging strategic partnerships with relevant regional and international bodies.
The high-level gathering underscores the bloc’s commitment to investing in its burgeoning youth population and harnessing the power of sports as a catalyst for sustainable development across the region.
As Tripoli prepares to host the visiting delegations, anticipation builds for what promises to be a pivotal meeting in shaping the future of youth and sports cooperation among the CEN-SAD nations.
