CEN-SAD Chief Meets Preparatory Team Ahead of Tripoli Youth Ministers’ Summit
The Executive Secretary of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD), Adou Alhaj, convened a high-level meeting to review preparations for the upcoming 4th Council of Youth Ministers, set to commence in Tripoli on April 21.
Alhaj was joined by the chairperson and members of the Preparatory Committee, along with Deputy Minister of Libya’s Ministry of Youth, Randa Ghareeb, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the CEN-SAD Secretariat itself.
The agenda focused on finalizing logistical arrangements for the three-day summit, including welcoming ministerial delegations from member states and securing venues for the council’s proceedings. The committee briefed the Secretary-General on the work accomplished thus far, with discussions touching on the overall program and side events.
In his remarks, Alhaj commended the Preparatory Committee’s efforts, lauding the Government of National Unity’s role in reviving CEN-SAD’s activities by hosting such vital ministerial councils.
The summit, which comes after a 15-year hiatus, underscores the bloc’s renewed commitment to empowering youth and fostering sustainable development across the region.
